Pee pee in the potty

We hit a big milestone in our bathroom tonight... We have pee pee on the potty from Mr Jack Jack. I'm not planning on potty training until next year - sounds far away when I say it like that, but really I only have a few months. Jackson isn't ready and I believe in waiting until their ready and doing it quickly instead of dragging out the process.
We pulled out the potty chair to have around so he could get use to. Last week he was freaked out and was crying just being near it. Tonight before bath he sat on it naked and went. We did a huge celebration which included M&M's. So excited with his progress to sit on it and my perfect timing to put him on it before he went on the floor. After being reminded that I have been changing diapers for 5 years with no breaks, it's hard to think that soon it will come to an end.

Tough night for the Dogs

Well tonight's game didn't go in the direction we were hoping, but we had a pretty fun night inviting the Metchos to their first Bulldog Football game at the Z.
The weather was beautiful and the kids had so much fun with Madison and Hannah. I think I need to hire them for every football game. The kids ran, spun, chased their shadows, colored, ate handfuls of popcorn, played with their cousin Esther and did just about anything and everything but watch football.
I'm hoping eventually they will fall in love with watching the game - right??? The kids and the Metchos were troopers they lasted until the end even as rough as it was to watch ( good thing Daddy will be gone all day Saturday). We love our Dogs and are excited for the next Friday night - hopefully that will end with a W.

Mommy Don't Say That

I often avoid going to our mailbox to get the mail.  I can be fairly certain that the only thing that will greet me are bills and ads. I guess my rational is that if I don't go and get the mail it will magically go away. Sadly that doesn't work. Twice a month we are greeted to a mailbox full of these.
Each one of these is a bill from Kaiser for Caden's therapy. We cringe when we collect the pile. Personally  I think if they could figure out a better billing system than mailing us a bill for each session when they all arrive on the same day our payment could be lowered, but what do I know. I secretly wish I would have saved instead of shredding the bills for the past year - what a photo that would have been.
As crazy and confusing as their billing system is we would pay 100 times what we do for the Easter Seals services. It has been worth every penny to see Caden grow and excel this past year. I love people who haven't seen him in a while comment on what a different kid he is. The girls who work with him are an amazing team and an answer to much prayer. They have not only helped Caden, but have been so helpful with Emmeline understanding some situations with Caden and with helping me handle some difficult battles.
Today we learned that the amazing Miss Charity is getting a new job and leaving Easter Seals. I cried when she told us and I'm crying again as I type this. I was choked up and emotional as we talked to Caden about it. He kept saying, "mom don't say that," when we were explaining that she is getting a new job. BROKE MY HEART! He loves his Miss Charity even when she pushes him and challenges him. We are forever thankful for all that she has done for Caden this past year.

Saturdays in September

I'm not sure how this happened but every Saturday in September is booked. September started off with a bang with Katie and Mark's beautiful wedding in Half Moon Bay. Katie was nice enough to trust me to set up her reception. Knowing I couldn't tackle the project alone without going crazy I managed to talk my sweet sister in law Cory, into helping me. Everything turned out AMAZING and it was such a fun evening.i was running around like crazy that I realized I didn't have time to snap a lot of photos. I managed to get one of tables and the donut and cake table. The donuts were a hit!
I followed the next Saturday up with a day at the ballpark to see our good buddy Jack Metcho play ball. We managed to get to the early game to see him pitch and score. After game one we took the kids to get Jackson a much needed haircut. With lollipops and licorice in hand we strolled into the shop in which Jackson instantly freaked out. Several mommy wrestling moves later the boy has a hair cut. I'm pretty sure next time they see us coming they are going to close the shop. After the dreaded cut we headed back to the ball field where Jackson got to take home a souvenir.
The boys can't get enough of their Jackie! Is that fat head not hysterical???
After a long fun day I ended it with a high school ladies night. I love hanging with these girls. We headed to Sac for dinner, drinks, and a great comedy show. My cheeks hurt so bad from laughing.
Well 2 Saturdays in September has been pretty great and the next 3 we will be in Palo Alto cheering on Stanford.

The Lone Musketeer

Today I had so much fun. Jackson and I dropped off Emmeline and Caden at preschool and then we went home and played for a little bit. Last year I worked full time and I missed having some alone time with my buddy. Jack Jack and I had a great time playing trains and hanging out.
We followed up our fun morning with a delicious lunch and naps for all of us. I'm still recovering from wedding weekend ( I can't wait to blog about it!!!). After naps we headed to Popsicles and Parachutes at Preschool. I was fortunate enough to meet Logan. Watch out Zeke, Emmeline has a new friend. Em came home talking all about her new friend Logan and was excited to share that he was 5 too! Tonight she would leave his side and constantly grabbed his hand led him - strike that dragged him around. The girl may have moved on from Zeke.

Black Bear

This morning we took advantage of the fact that daddy was home on weekday morning and we loaded up and headed to Black Bear. Knowing how much our best friends the DeTars love Black Bear we invited them along. Uncle Gabe was busy at work but Aunt Tiffani and her handsome bears joined us. So we had a table for 8 with 3 adults and 5 kiddos. I'm thinking now that it was no coincidence that they placed us in the side room in the very back.  Jackson was so excited to have breakfast with his buddy Wesley. Wesley and Jackson have a new favorite thing to do together. They love to have shouting matches. They are such boys and love doing all things that involve getting messy, dirty, and loud together.
Breakfast was delicious and so much fun with out friends. Sad to think that Daddy won't be home for another breakfast until  November.

Happy Birthday Lizzy

MissToday Emmeline and Jackson went to celebrate sweet Lizzy turning 2!!! Lizzy had an adorable ice cream shop birthday party. Jackson and Emmeline were in heaven with all the ice cream toppings. I'm not sure if either one of them had a scoop of ice cream or just a bowl full of m&m's and sprinkles? The kids had so much fun running around playing.

Mommy was super excited for the two worn kids. They were sure to sleep hard, but not before a quick trip to the Nut Tree. Mommy was suffering some mommy guilt for Caden going to Lego Fest. Amazing a lollipop and a trip on the train made them quickly forget where he was.
Missing my older boys. I can't wait to see them tomorrow and hear all about their trip.
