So Grown Up

Today we took the family to 6 Flags. This was our first trip of the season and we invited the DeTars to show them where you can find us most days in the summer. The kids had a blast. It was hard to see how they have grown up in just a few short months. Today Caden and Emmeline went on rides all by themselves. Daddy even talked us into going on the raft ride where Caden and I got SOAKED! Yay for walking around the park in soaking wet clothes - can you sense my sarcasm?

Reason #999

Today I came home to discover yet another reason why I LOVE the Roomba. After searching the house for the Roomba I discovered it was vacuuming underneath my bed. When was the last time I was able to vacuum under the bed? I'll say it again - I'm in love.

Mama's Boy

It looks like I am going to have to learn the sign for salad. Jackson LOVED my salad and couldn't eat enough of it. Now if I could just get his brother and sister to love it as much as we do.
The second interesting food discovery we made was that Jackson loves frozen peas. It cracks me up because one of my favorite snacks growing up was frozen corn and grapes (No Judging Me).
Jackson is definitely his mama's boy.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to one of my best friends! I don't know where I would be or what I would be wearing if it wasn't for her. (I know I wouldn't be blogging.)
I love how she keeps me accountable. I probably wouldn't have completed any of my Pinterest projects.
She is the most fashionable and crafty person I know. I love our craft days and when she cleans out her closet.

I have cherished our friendship over the years,  but I have loved this past year and sharing motherhood with her. I love hearing how her little guy grows and seeing how she has grown as a mommy. She has an amazing heart. She is there for me and my kids anytime I need her. My kids adore their "Aunt Tiffani" and I don't know what I would do without her around.

She is adventurous and simply amazing. I can not wait to see all the new adventures that she will take on in her thirties. Happy Birthday Tiffani!

Nail Shop Here We Come

Today we had a "first". Emmeline broke out her new sandals and asked me to paint her toes. I have been wanting to do this for years. After she realized it was painless, she let me paint her fingernails too.
I am beyond excited. I can not wait to take her for her first mani-pedi!

Starbucks

Oh Starbucks how I have missed you. This year the kids were learning about Lent in school (I love how grown up they are getting) and I decided I would give up Starbucks for Lent. I figured this would be a good example because they know how much Mommy LOVES her Starbucks. I survived my 40 days and even went more than a week past. But today was a STARBUCKS day and it was sooo good.

Monday Funday

Dad was back to work today and it was back to our normal schedule. Morning nap time is a fun time out our house. I am constantly trying to find something new and QUIET (is that possible??) for the Twins and I to do. Today we did shaving cream painting and painter's tape race tracks.

Happy Birthday Great Pop

It was birthday weekend at our house. We went from party to party. Today we celebrated Great Pop's birthday or as Emmeline use to say "Grape Pop". It was so nice to have the WHOLE family together. Of course we enjoyed some delicious pizza and pasta, and my mother in law's AMAZING apple pie. Highlight of the day taking a family photo - can't you tell our kids were thrilled. Mental note: don't wait until nap time to snap photos.

Surprise!

2012 has been the year of surprise parties. Two down and two more to go.My family LOVES to throw surprise parties and my husband keeps threatening me not to EVER throw him one.(I think he is secretly asking for one.)
We had a great time celebrating my Uncle's 50th birthday. The kids had so much fun playing and the adults enjoyed yummy food and drinks. Happy Birthday Uncle Danny!!

Discoveries

For the past couple of days Little Man has not been himself. We decided to stay home which meant I needed to find something neat to with the kids. I turned to my favorite subject in school and did some science with the kids. They loved discovering what happens when we mix colors and Caden LOVED making mini volcanos with vinegar and baking soda. I love to see them discover new things. At the end of the day I made a new discovery, Little Man is cutting a molar and a tooth on the bottom. No wonder he hasn't been himself. Looks like I will be freezing some carrots for him to chew on.

Hitting the Lanes

Two days left of spring break and the rain put a little wrench in our plans. we figured bowling would be a perfect indoor activity. Caden was soooo excited. We ended up meeting up with The Pops and had a great time at the bowling alley. Caden beat us all. It is amazing how good and competitive that boy is. Emmeline was upset she didn't get a strike, but was thrilled to find a pink bowling ball.

Spring Break

We took advantage of the beautiful weather  and visited two of my favorite spots. First, we headed over to the Sacramento Zoo to visit with some animals and then headed over toFairytale Town for a picnic and play. I LOVE Fairytale Town. It is so cute and the photos always turn out so precious. It was very cute to see Jackson try and keep up with his brother and sister. Our last visit Jackson just enjoyed the trip in his stroller and today he was moving all over the place.
Yay for one last day of sunshine before the rain comes!

Happy Easter

Today we were blessed to have both of our families over to celebrate Easter. I think the brunch was a success. We had beautiful weather and yummy food.  I was so thankful that the weather cooperated so we could enjoy brunch outside. I learned Sunday morning when I came home from church that if teaching doesn't work out I could go into business making nests. I managed to set the table and set the decorative birds nests out on the table to  then come home from church  and find that  birds were getting on the table and flying off with them. Good thing I made a few extra. But then to top off the whole nest and bird encounter, Little Man got pooped on by a bird. I guess I learned to keep that decor for an inside party.
To wrap up brunch the kids had a great time looking for eggs, playing outside, and hitting confetti eggs. It looks like confetti eggs has now become an Easter tradition and I don't think the boys could be more thrilled.

Caden hitting a confetti egg. (Note: he is hitting left handed - Dad is so proud.)

Egg Hunt #2

The kids are cracking me up with their egg hunting skills. The last two egg hunts Caden has picked up nothing but blue eggs and Emmeline will only put purple and pink eggs in her basket. Sunday morning egg hunt should be interesting at our house- I am guessing Mommy and Daddy will be getting all the non blue and purple eggs. Let's hope the Easter bunny fills the yellow and orange eggs with some yummy chocolate.
After our egg hunt with our friends it was time to go home and color/paint or eggs.
I am off to bed. We have a busy morning with church and Easter brunch at our house.

Bunnies, Parades, and Eggs Oh My!

Today was a super busy day. The kids had their Easter party at school. It started out with getting to see a real bunny and then they set off on their Easter Parade. Caden somehow managed to be in the front and lead the parade. Mom was a little nervous when she spotted this. He handled the job great. Next, the Easter Bunny made a special appearance and hid a bunch of treats for the kids. I have to say the Easter Bunny was looking very slim and trim this year. :) After all the craziness I was lucky enough to escort Easter Bunny to a well deserved lunch.

Perfect Day For A Drive

I can not get enough of this beautiful weather. Today we had a fun playdate with our friend Liam. The boys had a blast playing in the backyard. We finished the evening with a "drive" around the block. Jackson thought he was big stuff getting to drive the car by himself.

Nesting

Have you ever started a project and half way through an you thought "what in the world have I started?" Today I had a great idea for a cheap decorative touch for Easter brunch. The project involved Spanish moss, which is now all over my dining room floor and table. After completing about 10 nests I realized I think I may be allergic to the moss. I worked through the sneezing and itching and finished the project. Now I am off to go pop a benadryl and head to bed.
