On the other side of the table

Well Caden and Emmeline finished their first year of preschool. Today they had their conferences. It was very humbling being on the other side of the table. We love Miss Leta and she put together two amazing portfolios of the kids that we will cherish over the years.
After naps we went over to the DeTar's house for some fun in the sun and a little playtime. It was a fun way to wrap up the school year.

blogging and pins

Today Emmeline and I were busy in the kitchen cooking up some summer snacks. We came up with a pretty good , no AMAZING recipe for s'mores chex mix. I thought it would be a great post for the new craft, kids, and recipe blog that I am doing with my bestie Tiffani. I was able to snap some good photos and posted them and the recipe to the blog Mommiesbyday.blogspot.com. After I blogged about it I learned how to pin on pinterest. Now my recipe is out there for all to try.

Diaper Derby

Today we met up with our best bud Wesley and Noah for a Fiesta Days tradition- The Diaper Derby.
Walking into the complex I realized this was not just fun and games like I thought it would be. People were very serious and oh so competitive. It was precious to watch all these babies crawling or not to the finish line.
Out of the gate Jackson was way ahead of the group. I knew the yogurt bites at the other end would entice him. Then when he was just about to cross the finish line he stopped. It was like the kid who is about to score the touchdown and turns around and fumbles. Ughhh.... He was then beat out by a runner.
We will take our silver medal. Way to go Jack Jack.

Parade

Today we went and watched the 55th Annual Fiesta Days Parade. It was perfect parade weather. We had great seats.Emmeline loved the gymnastics floats along with the Princesses and Caden loved the Army trucks. He was pretty disappointed not to see as he calls them "Green Army Men. " Jackson loved the balloons, but he was muh more fascinated with the dogs that were behind us.

It was a fun treat to see G'Auntie and G'Uncle in the parade.

Following the parade we had my bestie and her sweet little guy over for lunch. It has been fun watching Wesley with the kids. He has gone from not sure what to think of my loud bunch to crawling around and trying to hang with the big kids. So precious! I love watching our kids hang out together.

Just like daddy

Caden will probably be embarrassed to ever read this, but it was a big today for him. He successfully went to the bathroom standing up. I found him in the bathroom and I wasn't sure what he was up to and then he told me he wanted to go like daddy. After a little help he did it. I am wondering how many times a day I am going to now have to mop the floor?

Prednisone and performances don't mix

Tonight the Twins had their spring performance. It also happened to be the same night that Caden's allergies decided to flare up. Poor guy had swollen, itchy eyes, and was wheezy. We ended up having to do a breathing treatment before we went and it made him CRAZY. He was out of control and was constantly in motion.
He made for some interesting moments in the concert. And then following the performance to help his already bouncy self they served cake and ice cream. And yes, he was up until 9:45. Ughhhh...

My Boys

It has been really precious to watch my boys play together. Caden didn't exactly take to Jackson when he was first born as I had imagined. It was a rough trying to convince Caden that having a brother would be a great thing. Today I saw them really playing together. Caden shared his toys Nd Jackson was trying to do what his brother was doing. So Sweet!

Clothesline

I had to get a little creative today. Our poor gazebo turned into a piece of art full of clothes pins and diapers. It looks like my next project should be hanging a clothesline in my backyard. I am loving not having to run the dryer and how the sun naturally bleaches the diapers - AMAZING!

My 4th Child

My husband is the cutest, sweetest guy ever and is a giant kid at heart. We found a great deal on a blow up water slide and decided it would be a fun birthday gift for the kids. It arrived at our door on Wednesday and I think it took all that he had to wait until Saturday to open it up. So much for saving it for their birthday, but here's to lots of fun this summer.

Happy Mother's Day

I am one lucky girl - I was spoiled this weekend by my favorite people in the world. One of my favorite gifts was the prong my kiddos sang at school. I am so glad I recorded it so I can listen to it over and over again. I am so thankful for being a Mommy. It is the craziest, hardest,most challenging, and rewarding experience of my life. I am constantly learning something new and have learned a love you really can't imagine until you experience it. I am forever thankful and grateful for all the loving Moms that I am surrounded by. I am blessed to have an amazing Mom and Mother in law so close by. I am grateful for their experience, support, advice, and love. Today I thank God for my three miracles that God has entrusted me with. Each one is a special gift and my most important responsibility.

Double the Fun

Today we had a fun morning at the park with our buddy Wesley and some new friends. We taught Wesley how The Santopadres do swings. It was fun to put the boys together - it brought back memories of when Caden and Emmeline were little.

Mud Day!

Since we signed the kids up for preschool I was counting down the days until Mud Day. So mud day is a little different from when my husband and I went, but it was still a blast. Gone are the days of actually digging a hole and putting a hose on it to be replaced with plastic pools full of mud. It didn't surprise me that Caden barely put two toes in the mud or that Emmeline was so excited about getting to paint her body with mud and paint. What a fun day!

G.G.

 Today we went over to spend a little bit of time with someone who I adore. The kids LOVE their G.G. and were so silly with her tonight. It was really cute and I think it was just what the doctor ordered for her.  We ended up taking some photos. Here is one of my favorite's from tonight.

Cinco de Mayo

Tonight we celebrated Cinco de Mayo with my bestie Tiffani and her adorable little guy Wesley. The tacos were a little bit of a disaster, but the my new rice recipe and dessert made up for it. Here is a little preview of the dessert.

T.G.I.F.

After a busy couple days at work with play practice, Mother's Day projects, and progress reports it was nice to wind down and relax with the family. My favorite moment of the day was when Emmeline told me she wants to be a mommy just like me when she grows up. She is precious. - made my heart melt. I think that it was even more precious that she told me this while I was cleaning the bathroom and toilets. I guess she thinks that is one of the fun perks of being a Mom. I love my kids so much and I am so grateful everyday that I get to be their Mom.

Postponed

I woke up this morning so excited for Mud Day at preschool. I couldn't wait for this post and then I went to preschool and found out it was postponed. We still have our bag all packed eagerly awaiting Mud Day next week.
